It is my true honor to walk with my clients in their journeys of growth and healing. My work is centered on creating a dedicated, warm, and empowering space to help my clients pursue and reach their goals. I want to get to know you and all of the things that make you, you. Then together we can build a customized plan that will help you best reach your short- and long-term goals. This plan will include working together in session as well as home practice. After all, you will likely see the changes you want to see faster when you get to practice in your environment!

After having trained at Marquette and the Center for Behavioral Medicine (comprehensive DBT center), I completed my internship and Postdoc at Duke University Medical Center. I was a Clinical Assistant Professor and then Director of the Purdue Psychology Treatment and Research Center (PPTRC) at Purdue University. There I was directly responsible for training and supervising all of the graduate students in evidence-based treatments for adults. I then served as the Post-doc Training Director as Balanced Awakening in Chicago.

I have extensive experience with evidence-based therapies, which, in short, means therapies that have been demonstrated to work for many, many different individuals over time. Some of the therapies I have expertise include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT—intensively trained), Behavioral Activation (BA), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other exposure therapies, the Unified Protocol (UP), Self-Compassion Mindfulness-based Therapy, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT for individuals and couples) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

My work is trauma-informed, culturally conscious, and focused on helping you to live in accordance with your values. In therapy I can help you build a customized skills toolbox that you can apply to many different areas of your life. I will offer you a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions and I will also challenge you to make changes so that you can see lasting progress.

In addition to therapy, I have published and conducted research on numerous topics including multiculturally conscious care, diversity training, prejudice and discrimination reduction, and more. I have also supervised and designed treatments for a large national research program aimed at helping caregivers of children with rare syndromes including Angleman Syndrome, Prader Willi Syndrome, and Williams Syndrome.
