Free consultation

I offer a free 15-20 minute phone or video consultation for potential clients. This time is used to answer questions and to ensure it is a good fit. I will ask some questions about what you are looking for from therapy and you are welcome to ask any questions you have about the therapy process, my therapeutic style, or anything else that would help you determine if it is a good fit for you.

Insurance and Fees

I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO plans and Aetna PPO plans. If you would like, before starting therapy I can verify your benefits for you. You are also encouraged to call the number on the back of your insurance card if you have questions about your benefits for mental health care.

I am out-of-network with other insurance providers. If you have a different insurance provider and would still like to work together, many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits. That means that you would be responsible for paying the full fee for therapy sessions at the time of session but can submit an invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many insurance companies will reimburse a percentage or set amount for seeing an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide invoices directly to you that you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. You may want to contact your insurance company with the following questions to best understand your benefits:

  • What are my out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What amount or percentage would I be reimbursed for seeing an out-of-network mental health provider?
  • Do I have a deductible to meet first? And if so, how much is left on my deductible?
  • Is there a limit to the number of sessions I am permitted to have in a year?

Self Pay

I also offer a self-pay rate. If you would like to work together but not use insurance benefits, I offer the following:

  • An initial session in focused on gathering detailed information about your current life and history: $240. Price is for both couples and individuals.
  • A 55-min therapy session: $210
  • An extended 90-min session: $240
  • A 55-min couples therapy session: $240
  • Group therapy is priced per session or as a package price. Will be listed individually.

Here is a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of therapy services in accordance with the No Surprises Act. Please note that if you are using insurance to help cover the cost of therapy, your total costs will likley be significantly less than the quoted amounts.

No-show/late cancellation

Cancellations and re-scheduled sessions will be subject to a fee if canceled less than 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made for and held exclusively for you. Insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions. The first missed session will be charged a $60 fee and every subsequent no-show or late cancel charge will be $160.

Evidence-based treatment or evidence-based practice means therapies and techniques that have been demonstrated by research to work very well, over and over again for many different people. This means that the work we do together will be backed by science. This does not mean, one-size-fits-all as good evidence-based practice always takes into consideration each client and their unique histories, identities, culture, and experiences.

It can be difficult to determine an exact number of sessions that may be most beneficial. Depending on the concerns a person is looking to address, 6-8 sessions may be all that is needed. Others want to engage in more long-term work, which may last anywhere from 3 months to a year. We will discuss your goals for therapy in the first session and I can give you a best estimate of the number of sessions needed. I aim to make sure each session is meaningful and that we stay on track to address both your short-term and long-term goals.

There are many different types of mental health providers and we do not all share the same expertise. Especially in a private practice setting, there can be limits to the types of care provided. Clients struggling with more severe challenges, may be best served by a higher level of care. I will do my best to assess these needs and communicate with clients as early as possible if a different provider or higher level of care may be most appropriate. Referrals will be provided.

Yes! I offer in-person appointments at 4043 N Ravenswood Ave. Chicago, IL 60613 as well as telehealth appointments.

Prior to the first session Dr. LeMaire will send you paperwork through Simple Practice (a confidential medical record system). You will create a logon, read through and sign the consent forms and answer a number of questions about your history and goals. This may take about 30 minutes. The paperwork should be completed no later than midnight the day before your appointment is scheduled. If paperwork is not completed on time, the first appointment may be rescheduled. If your appointment is in-person, you will also receive detailed instructions about finding the office. If the appointment is virtual, you will be sent a secure link 48 hours and 10 mins before your scheduled appointment time.

Most sessions will last approximately 55 mins. If another amount of time would work better for you, such as a 30 minute session, you are welcome to discuss these options with Dr. LeMaire.

Yes. If you are scheduled for either in-person or virtual and would like to switch, contact Dr. LeMaire directly. Dr. LeMaire can almost always switch to virtual. If you would like to switch to in-person this can likely be accommodated if it is a day Dr. LeMaire is in the Ravenswood office.
